Calcined Petcoke Market

Calcined petcoke, often referred to as calcined petroleum coke, is a byproduct of heating raw petroleum coke to a high temperature. A byproduct of the refining of crude oil is raw petroleum coke. Sulfur, metals, and other contaminants are present at trace levels, although carbon makes up the majority of its composition. The raw petroleum coke is roasted in a rotating kiln to temperatures between 1200 and 1400 degrees Celsius to create a calcined pet coke. This high-temperature processing converts the material into a denser, more pure form of carbon by removing the volatile components.
